Chainsaw is the best place in the KW area. Cheap Beer, Great Food and Hot Chickitas.
I love this place.

Speaking of shit... what's with the big Johnny on the spot? Is that there so the bouncers can inhale a shit huff from time to time?

Hi, I love the Chainsaw Bar mostly for the karaoke, which is 6 nights a week, except it starts at midnight on Tue. and Sat., after the band is finished. A problem I encountered with one song was, "Start Me Up" by The Rolling Stones. I sang the song on two nights, and the lyrics displayed on the video monitor were way out of sync. with the music that was playing. A screenful of lyrics would appear on the monitor, with about 4 to 6 lines, with about 2 to 4 lyrics per line. Then the lyrics would start to change colour, indicating it's time to sing them. But I estimate this was happening about 2 seconds BEFORE the lyrics should actually be sung. Further contributing to the problem, each screenful of lyrics would then suddenly disappear slightly before they should actually be sung. I was not able to memorize each screenful of lyrics and then start singing them when the music required them. Then, to further add to the confusion, at about the exact moment I should have started singing the previously displayed lyrics, a new screenful of lyrics would appear, and start changing colour, that should be sung about 2 seconds in the future. I think the only way to sing "Start Me Up" by The Rolling Stones, is either to have the entire song's lyrics memorized so that the karaoke singer won't need to look at the distracting, out-of-sync. lyrics on the screen, or if the karaoke host permits it, the singer could bring in a sheet of paper with the song's lyrics written on it, or maybe the karaoke host could provide a lyric sheet for the singer. I asked the karaoke host if he could slow down the speed at which the lyrics appear on the monitor screen, by about 2 seconds slower, but he said it's not possible. Chainsaw has lots of good karaoke songs, and plenty of song books for the customers, so there's probably no need to wait around to look at a song book. I wanted to sing 3 country songs that Chainsaw doesn't have in their song books. "A Different World" by Bucky Covington. "More Like Her" by Miranda Lambert. And a song by Billy Currington, I think the title is, "God Is Great, Beer Is Good, People Are Crazy", (at least those lyrics are repeated several times thoughout the song). If Chainsaw could get those songs, I'd enjoy singing them. I think the bar has a wide selection of beer to choose from, at low prices. I think the food tastes great, at good to great prices, but I haven't eaten everything listed on the menu yet. They've got some food specials from Mon. to Wed. I only have one complaint about the food, and that was the order of sweet potato fries I bought. The price was great, only $4, but the serving was huge, like about 454 grams, which is about 2 to 3 times more than I wanted. I was so full after eating all those sweet potato fries, that I didn't have room left in my stomach to eat anything else, like a hamburger. If Chainsaw could make a small size of sweet potato fries available, weighing about 150 to 250 grams, that would be a good amount for me, or for one person to eat. I like the music that people sing at the Chainsaw because it's a variety, including country, pop, rock, heavy metal, and other types. Some singers are good, and some singers are not so good, so it's suitable for beginners to experienced karaoke singers. The portable washroom located right outside the Chainsaw Bar's side doors is a great idea, and Chainsaw is the only bar I've been to, that has one, although I don't go to many bars. I used it twice on Sat. night, between 2 A.M. and 3:23 A.M. while I waited about 1 hour and 23 minutes for a taxi to take me home. I was told the fine for public urination FOR PEOPLE, is about $300 (cash grab), meanwhile, FOR ALL OTHER SPECIES, public urination is FREE, and not a crime. Ah, to be a dog.

The Chainsaw Bar's Caesar Salad is the best I've ever had. Just what I was looking for. I never knew salad could be so good. Maybe that's why I've hardly ever eaten salad in my life. Lots of lettuce with the salad dressing thoroughly mixed throughout.
